Day 19 Fromista to Carrion de los Condes

13 miles, an easy walk but long; most of it was on a gravel path next to the road. The early mornings continue to be quite cold, in the mid 30's, staying cool until later in the afternoon, breezy and sunny. The last few days the jacket and gloves have stayed on most of the walk. In keeping with the Princess theme, since I was unable to find a palace, I selected the next best thing, a converted monastery. I am in the Real Monastario de San Zoilo, about 1 km  out of Carrion de los Condes. The room is large, comfortable and quiet, and amazingly only €40. Today, after 2 long days walks, I am tired. Tomorrow will be a bit shorter to allow for a little more recuperation. Not many pilgrims out today.

In the photos, note the snow covered mountains in the distance; they would be running on the north side of the Meseta. On my last trip through this area, they were not visible, probably due to atmospheric haze; with the wind everything is quite clear.

I continue to mosey along, am close to the 1/2 way point. Yippee!
