The Camino Princess has found her Palace; it is the Parador San Marco, formerly a pilgrim hospital and monastery with a cloister, built in the 1500's, and now an elegant high end hotel with special rates for pilgrims. I have an gorgeous, huge, quiet room with sitting area, balcony, complete with minibar and fluffy towels, and heat all day (the heat last night went on at 5 and off in the middle of the night, so I woke up at 5 am due to the cold). This Princess is in her element.
This afternoon I met a friend of Stace Carman, Jesus Vega. We went for a glass of wine, then met his sister, Maria, for a long magnificent lunch. He will meet me again at 7 for a little sightseeing, and more tomorrow.
Life is not just good, it is GRAND!

Looks like fabulous "Princess" accommodations! You seem to be enjoying the 2nd time around a bit more than the 1st. The cooler temps seem definitely more agreeable. Enjoy your rest day in Leon.
ReplyDeleteYes, Leon is just FAB, and the cooler temps make all the difference. Still don't like the long distances each day, but I can do it!
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration! What a grand adventure you are looking so thin. Xoxo
